Purchased by the Dowling Family in 2015 and renovated in late-2021, The Full Moon Hotel have been operating as a licensed venue for over 150 years and is considered to be an iconic Pub in South-East Queensland.

Rebrand

The Full Moon Hotel was established over 150 years ago and completed its first renovation in two decades in 2021. Partnering with Kartia Designs, a local creative design and marketing agency, the Full Moon Hotel embraced a different look to refresh the branding and engage new audiences.
Starting with a deep dive into our demographic and desired outcome, Kartia Designs worked with the Hotel’s marketing team to develop a brand strategy and logo that would appeal to our current audiences and be used across multiple platforms on and offline. 

In addition to colours, icons and fonts, sub-branding was incorporated to further develop each area. Colour schemes and branding palettes have been carefully chosen to reflect the Full Moon Hotel’s diverse personality and design. This reflects the fresh, fun and cheeky disposition and tone of the Full Moon Hotel.

EFFECTIVE USE OF SOCIAL AND DIGITAL MEDIA

During The Full Moon Hotel rebranding, we did an in-depth review of our current market and target market. Developing to include customer profiles so common themes, requirements and expectations to ensure plans were efficiently met. A new integrated strategy was developed in accordance with current market and new campaigns have been created for better sustainability, attract the younger market, families and create new interest for the Hotel.

The Full Moon Hotel capacity expanded an extra 80 seats including walk-in seating, high bars, casual cafe dining and The Treehouse kids play space. As a hive of activity, we offer eclectic weekly pub entertainment such as: Trivia Nights, Musical Bingo, Weekend Vibrant Acoustic Sessions drawing a consistent and loyal patronage.

The Full Moon Hotel is in collaboration with Balter Brewery offering one of the only Balter On-site Beer Tanks in Queensland. 

From Currumbin to Sandgate, it’s Tank Beer delivered directly from Balter Brewery to the tank at The Full Moon Hotel, making it more fresh.

Late 2022, The Full Moon Hotel in collaboration with Balter Brewery installed the Balter Beer Tank. 

From Currumbin to Sandgate, it’s Tank Beer delivered directly from Balter Brewery to the tank at The Full Moon Hotel, making it more fresh.

Since its installation October 2022, The Full Moon hotel has consistently sold 250+ litres of Balter XPA weekly.

The guide prints 11,000 copies and is distributed throughout Sandgate, Brighton, Shorncliffe, Bracken Ridge, Boondall and Deagon, covering a large demographic within the Full Moon Hotel market reach.

Placement of ‘What’s On’ screens are tailored to each department of the Hotel to highlight specific promotions and offerings.  The Moonlight Bar has screens displaying rolling beer menus and a ‘Beer of the Month’ promotion in partnership with suppliers. Bistro areas each contain screens and display rolling visuals of the Hotel promotions including week night specials such as: Musical Bingo & Trivia Night.

We pursued innovative Marketing Activities by using social media and maximising our collected data. We transfer patron opted databases from OpenTable, Campaigns, Website & Mr. Yum ordering system to our MailChimp database and send monthly EDMs, updates & promotions.  Promotional products and activities are significantly incorporated into the Full Moon Hotel marketing strategy.
