BAR PRESENTATION AND EFFICIENCY OF BAR OPERATORS

Sandgate and surrounds have always thrived on marine resources through the ages, fostering a bustling boat building industry and a renowned haven for recreational fishing. Landmarks like the Sandgate/ Shorncliffe Pier and ongoing cultural events like the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race, underscore its enduring maritime legacy, supported today by conservation efforts aimed at preserving its natural marine beauty.

The centrepiece of the space is a 30-foot prawn trawler sourced half an hour up the road from Beachmere Marina, which has been carefully repurposed, wheelhouse and all, as a functioning bar with beer taps, a rum wall and a brand-new TAB area.

With a diverse range of seating spaces to suit every occasion such as cozy booth seating for couples, dog-friendly tables with views overlooking Bramble Bay, stools with high bars – and if you’re lucky you may even hear an old tale and a few untruths from one of the locals at the infamous Table of Knowledge!

Amey Rosenthal, from Rosenthal Creative says…

“We bought and gutted a 10 meter timber trawler, moved it in and fitted it as a bar, and then that wasn’t enough so we put two tinnies up in the roof, and covered the walls in a never finished collage of fishing memorabilia collected from and traded with locals from South-East Queensland and over 100 marketplace sales”

Who better than our Grand Dad, Jim Dowling - a mad fisherman and lifetime publican, whose classic yarns and tales will live on as they're woven through the character of our brand, and shared with punters over the bar in much the same way he would have back in the day, with a wry smile and a few untruths."

WASHTECH HIGH PERFORMANCE DISHWASHING

Washtech’s high performance dishwashers with Planet Technology maximise efficiency, reducing operating costs and environmental impact.  Fitted with a highly effective heat recovery unit that condenses steam and recycles the captured heat energy back through the wash system to heat incoming water for the next wash cycle. The result in typical operation is a 38% reduction in water heating costs.

The significant reduction in steam emissions means that Planet Technology machines are SEED certified for use without an extraction canopy in most conditions, further reducing energy consumption resulting from the washing operation.

The Moonlight Bar back of house is now a dedicated glass washing station and has shown a dramatic increase in operation efficiency. Comparatively, glasses are now cleaned 75% faster. Glasses are no longer stacked on and behind the bar, which is more aesthetically pleasing, and more shift opportunities for the dedicated glassy role has been created.

Toby, Publican of the Full Moon Hotel says…

“Our new keg room allows us to not only be more energy-efficient but allows us to offer even more beers on tap and reduced labour costs with increased efficiencies.”
